Memory Care

Promoting independence while providing support

Foxbridge offers memory care and related supportive services for those with dementia and related disorders. Foxbridge was the first assisted living community in Tennessee to have our staff certified through the Alzheimer’s Association Fundamentals of Dementia Care training program. The nationally accredited program teaches the most current techniques for supporting the independence of individual with memory loss.

Willow and Spruce Cottages

We have two cottages for those needing specialized care. The Spruce cottage is for individuals with minimal short-term memory loss. Specially designed activities are introduced to maximize the use of short-term and long-term memory.

Residents will go on outings and be able to take advantage of the programs offered throughout the campus, but will have more attention placed on their involvement in daily activities. The goal is to help the individual to continue to be as self-sufficient as they are able.

Our Willow cottage offers the most supportive care. This is ideal for individuals who have a more significant short-term memory loss and who may tend to become disoriented. The coded entry at the front door is monitored and provides additional resident security. The specially designed interiors of the Willow Cottage were developed with assistance from the Alzheimer’s Association and Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Memory stations and specialized activities

In Willow cottage, memory stations are designed to promote recognition, reminiscence, and creativity. Specialized activity programs include group participation, self-directed exploration and individual visits.
