Foxbridge nears completion of phase one of renovations

Memphis/TN, April 23, 2006 – Foxbridge Assisted Living nears completion of phase one (1) of planned renovations to the five cottages that make up the assisted living community. Foxbridge will unveil the remodeled look, which includes new one-bedroom apartments, at an Open House on Thursday, April 27 from 10 AM to 6 PM at 2180 Mangum Road in Memphis.

The events include a ribbon cutting with the Bartlett Chamber of Commerce at 10 AM followed by a barbecue lunch at noon. Photos with “Elvis,” refreshments, door prizes and blues music will be featured from 1 PM-5 PM. Tours of the remodeled cottage including new apartment models will be given throughout the day. The event is free to the public.

Architect Carolyn Wills of Bottle Tree Design Group along with Contractor Daniel Walker of Daniel Walker Associates worked on the project that was initialed after the purchase of Foxbridge by the newly formed not-for-profit organization, Wesleyan Homes of Tennessee, a subsidiary of United Methodist Homes.

The renovations, which began at the end of December 2005, have included extensive interior remodeling and replacement of furnishings in the “Pine” building. Exterior work has included the replacement of 250 older, less efficient windows, landscaping and painting.

Jack Ritchie, Project Manager with United Methodist Homes said, “We plan to put $800,000 into the renovations. Work has gone very smoothly and we look forward to starting work on the dementia care building soon.” United Methodist Homes has served seniors in nine States in the eastern United States for over 100 years.
