Foxbridge receives Durham Foundation training grant

Memphis/TN-Foxbridge, a not-for-profit assisted living community in Memphis, has received a grant of $10,301 from the H. W. Durham Foundation to fund additional training of the Wellness staff.

The grant will fund training for the nursing aides who provide daily personal care to Foxbridge residents on the following topics:

  • Understanding the aging process
  • Enhancing communication and documentation
  • Preventing falls
  • Protecting resident rights

Sheryl Ludeke-Smith, Regional Director of the Mid-South Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, will provide the training.

“This investment in staff training by the Durham Foundation will enhance the quality of life for Foxbridge residents while boosting the professionalism of the staff,” said Jack Ritchie, PhD, regional director for United Methodist Homes, which owns and operates Foxbridge.

Opened in 1988 under the name Fox Acres, Foxbridge consists of five buildings each with 24 apartments that are located on an 8-acre campus at 2180 Magnum Road.  Substantial renovations are complete in three of the apartment buildings and underway in the remaining two buildings.

Foxbridge, with accommodations for 120 residents, is currently renting newly renovated apartments. For further information, please contact Marty Love by calling 901-377-0101 or by emailing mlovefoxbridge@bellsouth.net.
